Savory Sage ApplesauceMakes 2 Cups/span>
- 1 tbs olive oil
- 1 tbs chopped Footprints Edibles sage
- 2 tbs butter
- 3 large Honeycrisp apples, cored and thinly sliced
- 2 tbs maple sugar
- Nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon
- 2 tbs balsamic vinegar
Warm olive oil over medium heat in a 12” skillet. Add Footprints Edibles sage and sauté for 1 minute.
Place apples and butter in skillet and sauté until softened but not falling apart.
Sprinkle with sugar, and a pinch each of nutmeg, cardamom and cinnamon. Toss and cook until sugar glazes apples.
Add vinegar to pan and reduce, scraping up brown bits.
Serve over pork, chicken or ice cream!
